Digital Delight Extended

Close to My Heart has decided to extend the savings on their Studio J layouts until March 15, 2013!  It's an awesome deal.  For only $5.00, you get a double page layout you created as well as the .jpg files of that layout.   I couldn't help but to take advantage of the deal.  I ordered some, but I have more to come.  Here's a couple of my layouts from my last order.

I love the fact that in Studio J, you have access to retired papers as well as those that are brand new.

My actual layouts are on the way, but in the meantime I can share on the web or in email, and even print my own 8x8 pages, from the .jpgs.

If you haven't had a chance to check out Studio J, now is the time.  You can follow this link "here" and start creating.

I have more in the works, when I get them done, I'll get them posted.  Until then, thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrapping!

Fairy Friend Birthday

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to spend the day scrapping with friends.  Despite the nasty rain outside, we had a wonderful time.  Thank goodness scrapbooking is an indoor sport!  It was my friend Kim's birthday, so we had a birthday scrap! I thought I would share with you the card I made her for the occasion.

I fell in love with this little fairy when I saw her (I'm a little bit of a fairy fanatic :)).  She is Silver Fairy by Wee Stamps.  I used Copic markers to color her.   The black gemstone flourishes are Sparkles Black Flourishes from Close to My Heart. I love these.  They come with three in a set.  I used the two smaller ones.

I used some  CTMH tulle ribbon and stuck it here and there behind the flowers.  I dusted her wings with Prisma Glitter.  I just think that glitter is perfect for fairy wings.    I typed the sentiment, which I had seen on another card.  I don't know its origin, but it was just what I wanted to say.

I did get a couple of layouts done on Friday and as soon as I get them uploaded I will share them, too.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Kim!!  29..right?  again ?   :)

Chantilly and Tilda

Out of the new book, my favorite paper pack has to be Chantilly.  I absolutely love all these pastel paisleys and flowers.   To me, it just screams Spring.  A couple of posts back I had done a coloring experiment with my little Tilda from Magnolia Kids stamps.  I thought she would be just perfect combined with Chantilly.   I keep seeing these really involved cards with lace, flowers, and pearlie things.  I don't normally go that route, but I do love to look at them.  I thought I would try my hand at this type of card, but I made everything from paper, save the pearlie things of course :)

I used the Tilda I had colored with Copics and CTMH alcohol markers.  There is a lot going on in this card.  Everything is made from CTMH cardstock.  The lace strip was punched from a Martha Stewart punch.  All of the flowers are cardstock, as well.  They are flowers in varying sizes cut from the Artiste cartridge and manipulated and layered to form the full flowers.  The pink ones are from Cotton Candy cardstock and I used a sanding block and gently sanded the edges so they appear to have white tips.  The yellow flowers were cut from White Daisy cardstock and the edges were inked in Buttercup.   Below is a closer look at the detail.

The smaller one layer flowers were punched from Blush and Buttercup cardstocks with a small Fiskars flower punch.  The sentiment is from our new Hoppy Easter stamp set, which is adorable in itself.  Since Tilda had her rabbit I thought it worked for this, too.

This card was definitely fun, but a lot of work.  This was my first attempt.   I have two more Tilda's, so I'm sure I'll be trying again, soon.   Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Valentine's day.  I thought I would share with you the card I made for my daughter.   She had seen it before, but thought I was making it for someone else.  So when she opened it this morning, she was thrilled, which really warmed my heart.

I was trying out a new stamp from Whimsy Stamps.  It's called Spread Love by Crissy Armstrong.  I just thought she was darling.   I colored her with Copics and CTMH alcohol markers.  I sprinkled her wings with Prisma Glitter and I used liquid glass on the hearts.  She was kind of an odd sized image.  I mounted her on a 6x6 card base of White Daisy.  I cut the letters and heart from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge out of white cardstock.  I colored them with copic markers to match my hearts on the page as close as I could.  I then completely coated them with Liquid Glass.  After they dried I put them on little pieces of wire I had and curled their ends.  The ribbon was some I had in my stash.  The inside sentiment simply said Happy Valentine's Day.

The challenge over at H2H this week is Love is in the Air.   I'll be entering my little valentine over there.  If you haven't visited Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog, you should check it out.  As always, there is a ton of inspiration from those talented ladies.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Valentine's Day!

CAS2 Day 4

One of the studies for Day 4 at CAS2 cardmaking class was using white space to make your images pop.  I love the look of a crisp clean card, but for the life of me I can't leave well enough alone..lol.   This was my attempt at this lesson.

This is a standard size card cut portrait style.  These 3 little flowers are actually just one stamp that was stamped three times at different heights.   I used Copic markers to color them in and then added Liquid Glass for the shiny highlights.  The sentiment is from the A Garden stamp set.  I used a fine tip black journaling pen and drew a little frame around the flowers.

Cardstock:  CTMH Black and White Daisy
Stamps:  Studio G; CTMH A Garden
Inks:  CTMH Black and Copic markers
Other:  Liquid Glass

And in case you haven't noticed, the While Supplies Last page has been updated!  There are some super bargains on there.   You can click on the link at the top of this page and it will take you there.  Stuff is going fast.

That's it for today.  I'm going to hit the homework again.  Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Day 2

Somehow I missed this one.  I had tried a few others from the Day 2 lessons, but I wasn't happy with any of them.  This one wasn't as bad.

It was a neat idea for a single layer Valentine's card.   You may recognize the bottom pattern, the stamp, and the sentiment from Whooo's Your Valentine stamp set.  The post mark lines are from a stamp in the Jardin stamp set.  The loopy line is from an American Crafts stamp set.  It was a very simple card and by far the quickest of any I tried from those lessons..lol.  Although not the greatest, it was my best attempt.

Cardstock:  CTMH White Daisy
Stamps:  CTMH Whooo's Your Valentine, Jardin; Dear Lizzy & American Crafts
Inks:  CTMH Black, Whisper, and Tulip

Thanks for stopping by.  Back to the drawing board for me!

CAS2 Day 6

It's day 8 at the CAS2 Card Class, and I am waaayyy behind.  I will probably be skipping around in my posts to get caught up.  This card is my take on a sketch from Day 6.

This was a part of the tone on tone stamping technique they showed in class.  My card opens on the right side.   I used Slate cardstock for my card base.  The card front is Whisper stamped with Whisper ink using Hero Arts woodgrain background stamp.  I really like this stamp.  The butterflies are also a Hero Arts set.  I used our waterbrush with Crystal Blue and Gypsy inks to lightly tint their wings.  After attaching the grey  baker's twine, I adhered the circle with 3d foam tape and then attached the butterflies with glue dots.  I left the sentiment off this one, because I'm not sure what I want to use it for.  It's another one of those cards that can be used for different occasions I think.  Plus, I'm a horrible decision maker :)

Cardstock:  CTMH Slate, Whisper, Smokey Plum, and Twilight
Stamps:  Hero Arts - woodgrain and butterflies
Inks:  CTMH Whisper, Gypsy, and Crystal Blue
Embellishment:  CTMH baker's twine.
Other:  Fiskars scalloped edge punch

That's it for today.  I have lots more to come, so keep checking back.   Thanks for stopping by.
